Subway

Located on Cowgate, Subway is famous for its flavoured venoms. Subway mostly plays charts and cheese music, and sometimes has special event nights (for example, they had a Taylor Swift night during Freshers Week this year). They also have a LGBTQ+ night on a Monday night, one of the few LGBTQ+ nights in all of Edinburgh. It has a student based night on a Tuesday, called Tamagotchi Tuesday, which offers free entry for all.

What’s Fresh? recommends:

Go in pairs - The Subway bouncers are notoriously strict, with myself being granted entry only five out of the twelve times I’ve attempted. The best advice What’s Fresh? has for this is to go in pairs, as large groups seem to get instantly rejected.

A change of pace - Subway has a quite unique vibe compared to most Edinburgh clubs, as it is quite girly-pop, and plays up to it. It is great if you are bored of the constant live music of Dropkick’s or other Irish bars, or the dance music scene of other clubs in Cowgate.

Buy Venoms - What’s Fresh? recommends to buy the different flavoured venoms whilst you are in Subway. They are actually quite nice in taste, and will get you drunk incredibly fast.
